Raj Pudipeddi resigns as Bharti Airtel’s CMO and director of consumer business

Raj Pudipeddi, chief marketing officer (CMO) and director of consumer business for Bharti Airtel’s India operations, has re­signed. He joined the company in Feb­­ru­ary 2017 and was reporting to Gopal Vittal, managing director and chief operating officer, Bharti Airtel. His responsibilities included driving market share, strengthening the company’s brand image and implementing customer-centric stra­te­­gies within teams.

Microsoft India appoints Manish Prakash as country general manager, public sector and healthcare

Microsoft India has appointed Manish Prakash as country general manager, public sector and healthcare. Prakash joins Microsoft from the Telenor Group where he handled the company’s enterprise business. Prior to this, he was head, enterprise business, Bharti Airtel. In the past, he has been associated with Accenture as managing director, infrastructure managed services, Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Japan; and SK C&C (the affiliate company of SK Telecom in South Korea) as chief executive officer (CEO), international business division. He has also worked in leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, IBM and Hewlett-Packard.

Nokia appoints Sanjay Goel as president of Global Services

Nokia has appointed Sanjay Goel as president of its global services and a member of the Group Leadership Team (GLT), effective April 1, 2018. He will report to the president and CEO, Rajeev Suri. Goel replaces Igor Leprince, who has resigned in order to pursue opportunities outside the company. Goel has been associated with Nokia for over 10 years.

Nokia appoints Chandan Kumar as India head, optics business

Nokia has appointed Chandan Kumar as India head, optics business. Prior to this, Kumar was marketing director at Huawei India Wireless. Kumar worked with Huawei for over 12 years across various functions, including the company’s wireline business. In the past, he has worked at Nortel Net­works and Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited.

Munish Seth resigns from Facebook India

Munish Seth has resigned as regional head, APAC, connectivity solutions, Facebook. He was leading the company’s Express Wi-Fi programme in India. In fact, Facebook had begun testing Express Wi-Fi in India in 2015 under Seth’s leadership. In the past, he has led Alcatel-Lucent’s India operations.

Cisco appoints Miyuki Suzuki as president, Asia-Pacific and Japan

Cisco has appointed Miyuki Suzuki as the new president for its APAC and Japan operations. She will take charge from Irving Tan, who has been appointed senior vice-president, operations and digital. Suzuki will now report to Chris Dedicoat, executive vice-president, worldwide sales and field operations. She has held several leadership positions in organisations across Asia, in areas spanning technology, aviation, telecommunications and financial services.

Chialin Chang resigns as president, smartphone and connected devices business, HTC

Chialin Chang has resigned as president, smartphone and connected devices business, HTC. He had joined HTC in April 2012 as chief financial officer and was appointed president in December 2013. Prior to HTC, Chang had worked with Goldman Sachs.

Airtel Rwanda appoints Philip Amoateng as managing director

Philip Amoateng has been appointed managing director, Airtel Rwanda. Prior to this, Amoateng worked as CEO of Tigo until it was acquired by Bharti Airtel in December 2017. Amoateng has also worked at Millicom for over 16 years, in various operational, financial and strategy positions.

ACT appoints Eashwar Iyer as CFO

Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) has appointed Eashwar Iyer as its new chief financial officer (CFO). In this role, Iyer will lead the finance division of ACT across all verticals and legal entities. He will also be responsible for financial planning and reporting, purchase and other commercial activities, along with guiding the legal and secretarial teams. Prior to joining ACT, Iyer was vice-president at Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Supply Chain, Procurement and Infra­structure. In the past, he has worked with Agro Tech Foods and PepsiCo.
