As per the Mobango Mobile Internet Survey, globally, smart phone users spend 20 per cent of their internet time on the mobile.
Mobango conducted the survey among its registered users to understand mobile internet user engagement. The survey was conducted by Survey Monkey covering mobile users in four countries, India, India, United Kingdom, United States and Italy. The analysis for the survey has been based on the responses collected from about 800 respondents distributed proportionately among the four countries where the survey was conducted.
The survey revealed that the western markets are characterised by the higher smartphone penetration and 3G networks and the emerging markets high feature phone penetration and data networks largely supported on EDGE.
The survey covered consumption frequency of mobile internet, gender-wise mobile internet and application consumption, device (such as mobile vs tablets/e-readers) for mobile internet and application usage, frequency of applications downloaded and consumed and application users views on advertising and mobile downloads across markets.
